Call for Special Sessions

Special Sessions: a new opening for the MISSI Conference. Starting from this Edition the organizers of the Conference plan to make it more focused on Multimedia Processing. We invite interested researchers to propose special sessions to be held during the Conference.

The sessions are intended to provide researchers in focused areas the opportunity to present and discuss their current work, as well as to offer a forum for interaction among a broader community of researchers. A special session will consist of a group of papers in a sub-discipline of Multimedia and Network Information Systems.

Please send the Workshop / Special Session proposals to missi@pwr.edu.pl. The Subject field of the letter should contain the text: Special Session proposal MISSI 2018 Session acronym.

Please attach to the letter a filled proposal pattern with the following information:

  • Title & acronym of the special session
  • Brief profiles of special session organizers
  • General description of the special session scope
  • List of topics
  • Proposed Session Program Committee (to be invited)

The papers have to meet the same standards as the other MISSI 2018 papers and will be published in the conference proceedings, in a bound volume by Springer-Verlag in its Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing Series.

The organizers will be responsible for the advertisement and promotion of the special session and the conference including collaboration on the special session webpage preparation.

The special session committee will manage the paper review process using the MISSI Conference System. A separate EasyChair track will be provided for each special session. All the reviews should be submitted through the MISSI conference system. Each paper should have at least two reviews.

The final decision as for the acceptance will be taken by the MISSI 2018 Program Committee based on recommendations provided by special session organizers.

Proposal pattern

The conference language is English. All contributions should be original and not published elsewhere or intended to be published during the review period. To ensure high quality, all papers will be thoroughly reviewed by the MISSI 2018 International Program Committee on the basis of technical quality, relevance, significance, and clarity. The proceedings of MISSI 2018 will be published by Springer in series Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing and will be distributed at the conference.
Papers should be prepared according to Spriger Instructions for Authors.
Up to 10 final published pages are complimentary. Additional pages will be subject to the extra-page charge (see Registrarion/Fee).

Social Events

Panel discussion is planned to be held in the spectacular surroundings of the Silver Mountain Fort (pl. Fort Srebrna Góra).
The complex is located on the heights of the Sudety Mountains, a body which forms a natural border between the Kłodzko Valley and the Silesian Lowlands. It is composed of six forts, several bastions, and associated elements. It is a rare example of a mountain stronghold and is commonly called a "Gibraltar of Silesia". The fortress was never captured by the enemy while besieged.
